Distinguished authors and teachers Kevin Canty, Jon Jackson, William Kittredge and Lois Welch will discuss books by Rick DeMarinis - books like "The Mortician's Apprentice" (Norton, 1994), "The Year of the Zinc Penny" (Norton, 1989, New York Times Notable Book), and the collection of stories "The Voice of America" (Norton, 1991) - describing how both his writing and his life affected their own work and lives for the better. The panel will bestow a Lifetime Achievement Award on DeMarinis, who has two new books coming out in 2015, and invite him up to say a few words.
