A great post-fest acitivity!

Germanfest is a free Montana German festival held each fall in Missoula.

Germanfest is a celebration of German culture and Missoula’s Sister City relationship with Neckargemünd, Germany. It is the premiere Montana German festival in the state. Highlights include traditional food, music and beer.

With Special Guests S-Bahn!

S-Bahn brings traditional German music with a modern twist. With a diverse and eclectic repertoire, the S-Bahn specializes in Oktoberfests (German) and Malankas (Ukranian). Missoula is pleased to welcome this exciting new addition to Germanfest, sponsored in part by Bayern Brewery of Missoula.

Germanfest officially gets underway when the traditional keg of beer is tapped by Jurgen Knoeller, owner of Missoula’s Bayern Brewery. The Shack Restaurant provides plenty of bratwurst and Black Cat Bake Shop will be serving up pretzels and traditional German pastries – putting a distinct twist on this Montana German festival.

Germanfest includes kids’ activities, an information booth with photos and books about Neckargemünd, and a raffle of many fabulous prizes.

Make the most of this year’s Germanfest and never forget your Montana German festival experience by purchasing a commemorative stein. Steins will be available online at the link below, the Missoula Cultural Council office, and at the event. The purchase of a stein entitles you to one free beer during Germanfest. PROST!
