Amy Ragsdale

Amy Ragsdale is a writer and choreographer. Her travel memoir Crossing the River, from SEAL Press, will arrive in bookstores in November 2015. Her articles and columns on travel and dance have appeared in High Desert Journal, Mamalode, British Airways online, and Outside magazine online, where she initiated the column Raising Rippers. She is the recipient of the 2009 Governor's Arts Award for the State of Montana and the 1996 Most Distinguished Teacher award for the University of Montana where she was head of the Dance Program for many years. She is the Artistic Director of Headwaters Dance Co. and lives in Missoula with her husband, Peter Stark, and their son.
