Caroline Patterson has published Montana Women Writers: A Geography of the Heart, as well as two children's book on the natural world. Her literary fiction has appeared in Alaska Quarterly ReviewSouthwest ReviewEpoch, and Seventeen. Her nonfiction has been published in Newsday,OutsideSouthwest ReviewSunset, and Via. She was a Stegner Fellow in Fiction at Stanford University and has won  fellowships from the Vogelstein Foundation, the San Francisco Foundation, the Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation, the Alison Deming Money for Women Foundation and the Montana Arts Council. She has completed residencies at the Ucross Foundation and two residencies at the VCCA in Lynchburg, Virginia, where she finished a novel,The Stone Sister. She teaches for the University of Montana and is the new executive director for the Missoula Writing Collaborative in Missoula, Montana.
